Sino Jet Group has formed a strategic alliance with Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport Air Ground Services as the business aviation services provider seeks to expand its operation and build the market further into China. The two entities signed a collaborative agreement last week during EBACE that will provide Sino Jet access to a range of services and local resources for its customers.
As part of the expansion in the region, Sino Jet plans to look for investment opportunities, added Sino Jet Hong Kong CEO Frank De. “We look forward to our cooperation with Shuangliu Airport whereby, initially, our work will focus on research and development of FBOs and other operating facilities to better meet the needs of the local market.”
The agreement also is designed to foster development of business and general aviation further into China, the entities agreed. “Until recently, the development of China’s business and general aviation market has been largely focused in North China, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Pearl River Delta areas,” said Jenny Lau, president of the Sino Jet Group and chair of the Asian Business Aviation Association. “Despite growing market demand in the southwest of China, business aviation/general aviation facilities in the region are limited. We are confident that the strategic collaboration between Sino Jet and Chengdu Shuangliu Airport Air Ground Services will play an important role in the development of the…industry in southwest China.”
Sino Jet has dual headquarters in Beijing and Hong Kong but has been taking steps to increase its presence in Mainland China with bases in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xiamen, and Zhuhai, in addition to Chengdu.
A subsidiary of Sichuan Airport Group, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport Air Ground Services provides most of the ground handling services at Chengdu Airport.
Noting the growth of the business aviation industry in recent years, Li Wei, chairman of the Sichuan Airport Group, added, “Demand is strong, and we see Sino Jet leading and delivering remarkable services in this part of the region. We fully support Sino Jet and we look forward to working together advance the development of the industry in the southwest region of China.”
