A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Million Air has expanded its footprint in Florida with the acquisition of W Aviation, one of four FBOs at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. The 4,000-sq-ft terminal will be rebranded at the end of the year, with upgrades to the concierge desk, refreshment area, snooze rooms, flight-planning area, and conference room, along with new Mercedes&nbsp;crew cars.
Million Air will continue to operate from that facility while blueprints are being drawn up for a new two-story terminal, with adjoining office space to replace it. The 8.5-acre leasehold also includes a fuel farm and 70,000 sq ft of hangar space. Million Air plans to add to additional hangar space and enlarge the ramp.
“Our team is excited to put up a flagship location in this community,” said company CEO Roger Woolsey. “The vision is to create a new front door to South Florida visitors, business leaders, government officials, entertainers, and other distinguished guests arriving by private aircraft.”
The chain, which operates at 31 mainly U.S. locations, also has facilities serving Tallahassee and Orlando. This latest move puts it in direct competition with Banyan Air Service, one of the country’s largest independent FBOs.
