During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Used available business jet inventories continued to climb this month, up 20% year over year (YOY) and 4% from July, according to the most recent report from analyst Jefferies. Citing its own and Amstat data, Jefferies added that the inventory of younger aircraft, those less than seven years out of production, has jumped 23% YOY but at a still low level of 3.9%.
Overall, 1,259 business jets have been for sale this month, equating to 5.2% of the total fleet. This compares with 1,051 for sale in August 2023, and the percentage of the available fleet is up from the one-year average of 4.6%. That increase crosses all aircraft sizes with midsize jets up 23%, heavies by 19%, and light jets by 18%, YOY. At the same time, prices are down 8% YOY and flat from July.
By manufacturer, Embraer units for sale have remained flat YOY at 39 with 3.3% of the fleet available. An increase in available Legacy aircraft offset a decline in available Phenoms for sale. Average Embraer jet prices dropped by 10% to $11.9 million.
Bombardier inventory, meanwhile, has increased by 13% to 69 aircraft, representing 3.9% of the total fleet. Learjet inventory is up 40% and Globals by 24%, while the number of available Challengers is down by 29%. Average pricing dropped 7% to $21.9 million.
Gulfstream inventories also have grown by 27% to 90 units with 4% of the fleet available versus 3.2% a year ago. This increase comes as the number of available G650s increased by eight and G450s by six. Average Gulfstream pricing dipped by 12% to $21.6 million.
Textron Aviation’s available Cessna Citation fleet is up to 141, a 33% YOY increase, driven by 20 more CJ2/CJ2+ and 12 additional Sovereign jets on the market. Available aircraft represent 4.1% of the active Citation jet fleet. List prices are off by 4%.
Dassault further has seen inventories climb by 28% YOY to represent 4.4% of the active fleet. This compares with 3.5% a year ago, but also is off a low base of 23 units for sale, Jefferies noted. Pricing of Falcon jets ebbed by 7%.
