A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Flexjet has broken ground on its first private terminal in Europe, the first such facility offered by a fractional operator outside North America. Located at the UK’s Farnborough Airport, and scheduled for completion in 2026, the 22,600-sq-ft ramp-side structure will be separate from the airport’s FBO.
It will feature a spacious lobby and concierge desk with separate arrival and departure lounges dedicated to the company’s passengers. Additionally, it will include a dining/formal bar area with meeting spaces and expansive views of the airfield.
On the operations side, the London-area facility will be home to Flexjet's tactical control center, operational team, and pilot amenities. Upon its opening, the company's Red Label flight attendant training facility will relocate there from its existing location on the airport.
The dedicated terminal is designed to echo the airport’s existing facilities and will incorporate environmentally friendly features such as solar panels on the roof and rainwater collection for reuse. Four electric vehicle chargers will be included.
This facility will represent Flexjet's largest infrastructure investment outside of the U.S. Earlier this year, the Directional Aviation subsidiary opened a larger Flexjet House, a sales and owners hospitality space in London’s Mayfair neighborhood.
“This development places Flexjet at the forefront of European private aviation, demonstrating the scope and scale of our international ambition and follows the exponential growth we have already achieved since we launched in Europe in 2019,” said company chairman Kenn Ricci. “We look forward to opening this truly exceptional space for our aircraft owners and their guests, which will combine stunning, contemporary design, with warm hospitality and a welcoming environment that they can call home each time they fly with us to and from Farnborough Airport.”
