A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Embraer finished 2025 in strong fashion with its executive jet division handing over 155 aircraft for the year, its highest tally in 15 years and exceeding its previous year’s <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2025-02-12/embraer-reaches-record-backlogs">total</a> by 25 deliveries. With that total, the Brazil-based OEM reached the high mark of its business jet delivery guidance issued early last year.
“Achieving the high end of our delivery guidance reflects disciplined execution and a relentless focus on profitable performance with strong margins,” Embraer Executive Jets president and CEO Michael Amalfitano told AIN.
In the fourth quarter, Embraer delivered 28 Phenom light jets and 25 Praetor midsize/super-midsize jets. While the airframer has instituted measures in an attempt to level off its production throughout the year, the 53 deliveries in the fourth quarter represent a third of its output for the year.
It handed over 86 Phenoms—including 72 Phenom 300s, now the most delivered aircraft in its class for 13 consecutive years—and 69 Praetors last year.
“While the Phenom 300E continued its dominance as the most-delivered light jet, we also saw significant growth in Praetor deliveries, underscoring the strength and versatility of our portfolio,” Amalfitano explained. “This momentum, supported by a book-to-bill ratio around 1:1, positions us for sustainable, profitable growth into 2026.”
