Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Bombardier manufactures a variety of business aircraft models, provides engineering, and aircraft maintenance services.

Bombardier unveiled a CA$100 million expansion project that will add a 126,000-sq-ft manufacturing center to its existing facilities in Dorval, Quebec. Scheduled to open by the end of 2027, the newest center will be located near Bombardier’s Challenger manufacturing center, but the OEM has not yet detailed what activity the center would house. The center is part of the company’s long-term strategy to boost productivity and capacity to meet growing demand for its business jets.
To help support this expansion, Christine Fréchette, the minister of economy, innovation, and energy for the Montérégie region, announced a CA$35 million repayable loan from Investissement Québec’s ESSOR program. Managed by the government, the program was created to foster Quebec’s competitiveness in the manufacturing sector.
“This major investment demonstrates our commitment to support Bombardier’s growth and build the infrastructure we need to maximize our productivity. As we expand our manufacturing capacity, we’re positioning ourselves to keep up with global demand and solidify our position at the top of the business aviation industry,” said David Murray, executive v-p of manufacturing, IT, and Bombardier Operational Excellence system.
Murray pointed to Investissement Québec’s support of business growth and said, “The ESSOR program, which will finance part of our expansion through a repayable loan, supports Bombardier’s global growth objectives while creating quality jobs in the province of Quebec.”
Bombardier pointed to a PwC study it commissioned that found that the manufacturer contributed a total of CA$7.4 billion—direct, indirect, and induced—to Canada’s GDP in 2024 and helped spur nearly 50,000 jobs across the country, including 10,000 direct jobs in Quebec alone.
“By supporting the expansion of Bombardier, a world‑class prime contractor, our government is generating significant economic benefits for the entire Quebec supply chain and for the aerospace cluster. This investment will also lead to the creation of hundreds of highly skilled, well‑paid jobs, while strengthening Quebec’s expertise,” said Fréchette.
