An EASA notice of proposed amendments (NPA) makes updates to the certification specifications and acceptable means of compliance for large airplanes (CS-25). The proposed amendments reflect the state of the art and best practices of the industry, and address several safety recommendations. In all, 20 specific regulations are addressed. “The proposed regulatory material is intended to deliver a safety benefit, has no social or environmental impacts, and delivers some economic benefits by streamlining the certification process,” said EASA. “It will also increase the harmonization with FAA regulations in certain areas.” Comments on the NPA are due by Dec. 7, 2026.
