<p>On Aug. 7, 2025, the FAA issued a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to enable unmanned aircraft systems beyond visual line of sight operations with an original comment period ending on Oct. 6, 2025. Noting the substantial interest in, and comments on the FAA's proposed policies for ADS–B Out, electronic conspicuity, and detect-and-avoid, the FAA is reopening the NPRM for a limited time to permit additional comments on the specific topics discussed in the comment extension notice. Additional and new comments must be submitted by Feb. 11, 2026.</p>
