A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Avfuel has expanded its FBO dealer network with the addition of newly branded locations in Virginia and South Texas.
At Washington, D.C.-area Manassas Regional Airport, <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2018-09-06/chantilly-air-breaks-fbo-business-manassas">Chantilly Air</a> began operating its FBO in 2021, but its presence on the field extends back decades. Its 11,000-sq-ft terminal offers a passenger lounge, concierge, private VIP customs screening area, fitness center with shower facilities, two conference rooms, crew planning area, pilot lounge, and snooze rooms. The complex also offers 60,000 sq ft of climate-controlled hangar space that can accommodate the latest ultra-long-range business jets, as well as aircraft management, charter, and maintenance services.
“Chantilly Air Jet Center represents the caliber of service and operational excellence we strive to bring to our branded network,” said Avfuel v-p of contract fuel and bulk fuel sales Jonathan Boyle. “Its modern facility and customer-focused approach strengthen aviation service offerings in the Capital Region while delivering added value and reliability to customers.”
Boerne Stage Airfield, a privately owned airport in Texas’ Hill Country near San Antonio, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. It has a 5,000-foot runway and both full-service and self-service fueling. The renovated two-story terminal there offers lounge areas, an eight-seat conference room, a refreshment bar, a theater room, shower facilities, and crew and onsite rental cars. The facility has hangar space to shelter aircraft up to a Citation Sovereign.
“Boerne Stage Airfield’s modern facility, experienced team, and shared commitment to service excellence make this a natural fit for the Avfuel Network,” explained Collin Cowsert, Avfuel’s area manager for the south central region of the U.S. “We look forward to supporting its growth while strengthening the south Texas business aviation community.”
Both locations will now offer Avfuel contract fuel and participate in the fuel provider’s Avtrip customer loyalty program.
