A Boeing Business Jet has become the first aircraft to receive Airmont’s live-TV service built into DPI Labs’ cabin entertainment system, the companies announced this week at NBAA-BACE.
Instead of requiring a separate gateway box, the system runs Airmont’s gateway as software on DPI Labs’ Multimedia and Moving Map Server, which DPI Labs said can handle more than 100 simultaneous passenger streams. Airmont, based in France, said its StreamTime technology uses bandwidth efficiently to help operators control connectivity costs. The service runs on Gogo Galileo, which uses Eutelsat’s OneWeb low-Earth-orbit satellite network.
Passengers scan a QR code to control live TV from an iPad, while the Airmont Player app runs on an aviation-grade Apple TV unit from California-based DPI Labs.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment to making advanced live TV technology easier to integrate into business aviation,” said Airmont CEO Jean-François Gault, who called the deployment an important step toward bringing the company’s technology to established avionics platforms.
Martin Hamilton—DPI Labs’ v-p of business development, sales, and marketing—said hosting Airmont’s gateway on the server adds a capability “while keeping the onboard hardware footprint simple and compact.”

News and developments about everything that goes into the cabin of an aircraft, from floor coverings to headliners, with a special emphasis on in-flight entertainment, communications and other electronics for passengers. If it is in the cabin of an aircraft, it’s covered here.
