Leonardo has purchased Swiss OEM Kopter, which expects to certify its long-single SH09 by the end of this year.

Leonardo selected to provide up to 130 training helicopters to U.S. Navy in a deal potentially worth $650 million.

The order will increase the Abu Dhabi Aviation AW139 fleet, as well as add a new type, the AW169.

The London-based service provider can now service the S92 as well as the S76, Airbus H155 and Leonardo AW139.

Certification of the AW009, which will feature a Genesys Aerosystems avionics suite, is expected by year-end.
