<p>Part 172 of&nbsp;Australia's civil&nbsp;aviation&nbsp;regulation&nbsp;(CAR), pertaining to air traffic services and controllers, has been amended several times, but this is the first comprehensive review of both the regulation and its manual of standards.&nbsp;Proposed amendments include:&nbsp;introducing&nbsp;requirements covering controller fatigue,&nbsp;setting requirements for an accountable manager and key personnel,&nbsp;simplify the hierarchical structure for the various standards to which a&nbsp;controller&nbsp;must comply, and&nbsp;rearrange the layout of Part 172 to match the layout of&nbsp;other&nbsp;new&nbsp;CARs. Comments are due July 8, 2022.</p>
