<p>Australia’s Department of Transportation and its Civil Aviation Authority have published an industry-government working group consultation paper proposing to mandate ADS-B In for all capable aircraft operating under IFR in all airspace starting in 2033. Also proposed is a requirement for ADS-B In starting in 2029, applicable to all beyond visual line of sight drone operations. Also starting in 2029, small drones operating above 400 feet agl, along with all medium and large drones, would be required to have ADS-B Out. Finally, the working group proposes to require all advanced air mobility aircraft to be fitted with both ADS-B Out and ADS-B In starting in 2029. Comments on the consultation are due by Oct. 27, 2025.</p>
