<p>This&nbsp;Notice of Proposed Amendment (NPA) addresses&nbsp;shortcomings that have been identified in&nbsp;the European Union Aviation Safety Agency&nbsp;(EASA)&nbsp;Part 66 maintenance licensing system&nbsp;requirements.&nbsp;The&nbsp;goals&nbsp;of the&nbsp;NPA are to&nbsp;facilitate the type-rating endorsement for&nbsp;certain legacy&nbsp;aircraft,&nbsp;enhance the efficiency of on-the-job training,&nbsp;reduce the deficit of the practical skills of maintenance staff,&nbsp;and&nbsp;update the basic knowledge syllabus.&nbsp;In addition, this NPA provides a solution for maintenance licenses with regard to new products that are certified by EASA without adding a new license type.&nbsp;Comments on the NPA are due March 31, 2021.</p>
