<p>An FAA notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) will require remote and automatic identification of unmanned aircraft systems that would provide position information to receivers on the ground. The resulting new rules are expected to be fully implemented by the end of 2024. Exceptions will apply to amateur-built UAS, drones operated by the U.S. government, and UAS weighing less than 0.55 pounds. Comments on the NPRM are due on March 2.</p>
