<p>To coincide with&nbsp;the effective date of Nov. 5, 2020 for&nbsp;amendments&nbsp;to ICAO’s navigation procedures,&nbsp;the FAA has updated its special&nbsp;requirements&nbsp;for in-flight contingencies over oceanic airspace. Several of these procedures were updated in previous international flight information documents,&nbsp;but&nbsp;with a published effective date of Nov. 5, 2020. For example,&nbsp;starting on November 5, the&nbsp;FAA will&nbsp;require flight crews to report any gross&nbsp;navigation&nbsp;error&nbsp;(GNE) more than 10 nm off course—down from&nbsp;25 nm&nbsp;now—to align with ICAO’s&nbsp;current&nbsp;definition&nbsp;of GNEs.&nbsp;</p>
