<p>The FAA has issued a draft policy statement that officially authorizes the use of unleaded aviation gasoline in the fleet of piston engine airplanes and helicopters “in a manner that ensures safety via the Piston Aviation Fuels Initiative (PAFI).” Essentially, draft&nbsp;PS–AIR–20–2000&nbsp;provides the process&nbsp;for&nbsp;approving the piston aircraft fleet&nbsp;as a whole&nbsp;in lieu of obtaining individual aircraft model STCs.&nbsp;Public comments&nbsp;on PS–AIR–20–2000–DRAFT&nbsp;must be submitted by Dec.&nbsp;5, 2022.</p>
