A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

The Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) celebrated the completion of a major redevelopment at the dedicated general aviation West Woodward Airport (KWWR) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.
Priced at more than $12 million, the project included a new 5,000-sq-ft terminal offering a passenger lounge, pilot lounge, meeting rooms, and office space. The complex also features a new 17,700-sq-ft box hangar capable of sheltering ultra-long-range business jets. That brings KWWR up to 38,000 sq ft of aircraft storage space.
As well, 25,000 sq ft of ramp space was added to the airport’s existing 400,000 sq ft, and a new taxilane was built to connect the existing parallel taxiway to the new corporate hangar to allow for future development in the area south of the terminal.
The work was facilitated by the ODAA’s five-year revolving Airport Construction Program plan and supported by Oklahoma’s Preserving Rural Economic Prosperity program, which fuels economic growth and invests in workforce development in the state’s rural areas.
“Oklahoma’s aerospace industry is a vital economic engine for our state,” said ODAA executive director Grayson Ardies. “The completion of these pro-growth projects at West Woodward ensures that Western Oklahoma remains competitive and capable of supporting the evolving needs of both corporate and general aviation.”
