A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Texas-based service provider Galaxy FBO has been tapped to take over the operation of the former city-run FBO at Big Spring McMahon–Wrinkle Airport (KBPG).
Located between Midland and Sweetwater in the western part of the state, KBPG offers an 8,800-foot runway. Galaxy has now rebranded the facility as the fourth of its FBOs, which are all in Texas. It includes a 4,500-sq-ft terminal with a crew lounge, conference room, expansive refreshment bar, flight planning area, concierge, and crew car.
The Black Forest Ventures subsidiary is currently renovating the complex’s 43,000 sq ft of hangar space, which can accommodate aircraft up to a large-cabin Bombardier Challenger 600 series.
An Avfuel-branded facility, it offers both full service and self-serve jet-A and avgas.
“West Texas and specifically&nbsp;Big Spring represents a strategic expansion into an underserved yet highly active aviation corridor,” Jeremy Gee, Black Forest Ventures Aviation’s managing director, told AIN. “With our presence at [KBPG], we’re positioning Galaxy FBO in a central location along key east-west and north-south flight routes, making it an ideal fuel and tech stop for both general aviation [and business aviation].” He added, “The region’s proximity to the Permian Basin also drives consistent demand from energy-related operations, while the airport’s infrastructure, particularly its long runway and uncongested environment, allows us to efficiently accommodate a wide range of aircraft.”
