A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Air Elite, the World Fuel-sponsored global network of upscale FBOs, has expanded its footprint “down under” with the addition of two Australian service providers.
Machjet International, an FBO on the country’s east coast at Brisbane-area Sunshine Coast Airport (YBSU), features lounges for VIP passengers and crew in its dedicated terminal, hangar space capable of sheltering bizliner-class aircraft, and direct ramp access.
“The Sunshine Coast continues to attract business and leisure travel from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, said Machjet managing director Simon McDermott. “Joining Air Elite connects our local operation with a global network while allowing us to continue doing what we do best: supporting operators flying into Queensland and beyond.”
On the other side of the country, Revesco Aviation is a designated point of entry at Perth Airport (YPPH), the primary international gateway for Western Australia. Less than eight miles from Perth’s business district, it coordinates customs and immigration services, and features a dedicated terminal with VIP passenger lounge, hangar access, permitting and slot assistance, and rampside passenger pick-up and drop-off.
“Western Australia continues to see demand from operators supporting business, resources, government and leisure travel said company CEO Peter Hillier. “We look forward to working with Air Elite members and providing the local knowledge and on-the-ground support needed for successful operations into Perth.”
Both locations will provide World Fuel products and services such as contract fuel, Avcard, trip support, and World Fuel Rewards.
To maintain network quality, all prospective Air Elite members must undergo an audit of their facilities and amenities before acceptance. These latest additions bring the network to 78 locations worldwide, including four on the Australian continent.
“Australia continues to be an important market for business aviation, serving as both a destination and a strategic connecting point for operators moving throughout the Asia-Pacific region,” explained Malcolm Hawkins, World Fuel’s senior v-p for global business aviation. “By adding Revesco Aviation and Machjet International, we’re strengthening the support available to operators across two key Australian gateways while expanding the Air Elite network’s reach in the region.”
