Academy Aviation Maintenance Training (AAMT), part of Academy Aviation Group, has doubled the training space at its U.S. headquarters in Melbourne, Florida, and is showcasing its upgraded programs this week at NBAA-BACE 2026.
This includes a preview of the company’s Training as a Subscription (TaaS), a commercial model in development that would let operators and maintenance organizations budget recurring technical training around longer-term workforce and fleet needs rather than purchasing individual courses. The company said further TaaS details will follow as part of its 2026 rollout.
Show visitors can also learn more about the Melbourne facility expansion, new Cessna Citation courses, Embraer training, on-site delivery options, and upcoming curriculum additions. In addition, AAMT is launching a technical course giveaway aimed at young and early-career maintenance professionals, intended to give developing technicians access to aircraft-specific training and encourage more entrants into the maintenance career field.
Besides increased classroom capacity for technician throughput, concurrent fleet courses, and dedicated practical and avionics training aids, the Melbourne expansion supports the company’s technical training for maintenance teams serving Part 91 and 135 operators and Part 145 repair stations.
AAMT’s expanded technical courses include the Cessna Citation X/X+ and Longitude. These maintenance initial, line maintenance, and avionics initial programs are available in-center, online, or at customer locations. The company is also expanding its Embraer-focused training, including a course for the Phenom 300.
“Investing in our Melbourne facility is a direct response to what operators and MROs have been telling us: they need pragmatic, high-quality technical training that aligns with the reality of operational schedules,” said AAMT general manager for the Americas Nick Gardner. “The industry is facing significant technician demand, and workforce readiness hinges on giving technicians comprehensive, type-specific knowledge without disrupting day-to-day operations.”
