Regulators&nbsp;of&nbsp;Gatwick&nbsp;Airport&nbsp;continue&nbsp;to make progress with its plans for capacity expansion,&nbsp;one&nbsp;component of Gatwick Airport Limited’s future investment program&nbsp;between&nbsp;2025&nbsp;and 2029.&nbsp;A key proposal&nbsp;is to extend its current “standby” northern runway&nbsp;and bring it into regular use,&nbsp;which could increase&nbsp;the airport’s&nbsp;maximum capacity by an estimated 13 million passengers per year. The&nbsp;U.K.’s&nbsp;Secretary of State has issued a “minded to approve” decision on Gatwick’s northern runway project, and the deadline for the final decision is Oct.&nbsp;27,&nbsp;2025.&nbsp;Other elements of the program include,&nbsp;between April 2, 2025, through March 31, 2029,&nbsp;a price cap&nbsp;on operator&nbsp;fees&nbsp;that aims to&nbsp;ensure reductions in airport charges.
