She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Global business aircraft activity remained strong, ticking up 3.4% year over year (YOY) in June, with operations in North America climbing by 2.2%, according to Argus International’s latest Global Aircraft Monthly Activity Report. Flight activity in Europe was mostly flat, rising just 0.1%. Based on its TraqPak data, Argus further estimated that North American and European flight activity will increase this month by 4.3% and 0.7%, respectively.
In North America, all six months in the first half of the year finished up, culminating in a 3.5% improvement over the same period in 2025.
Last month in North America, fractional operations continued to drive the gains, jumping 10.4% YOY, while Part 135 operations increased by 2%. But Part 91 activity fell by 1.1%, with associated midsize-jet operations dropping 12.1% and large cabins by 7.1%. The largest jump in June came with large-cabin fractional operations, which soared 13.3% YOY.
Overall, by aircraft category, large-cabin operations were down by 3.3%, again largely because of the dip in Part 91 flying. All other aircraft categories saw increases: turboprops (4.6%), small cabins (3.9%), and midsize jets (1.1%).
In Europe, activity was mixed as midsize-cabin operations increased by 3.4% and turboprop activity by 0.2%. But this was offset by a 2.4% decline in small-cabin operations and a 0.4% dip in large-cabin operations.
In the rest of the world (Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America), activity continued to surge, up 11%, with every jet segment enjoying YOY double-digit gains: small cabins by 18.8%, midsize cabins (15.4%), and large cabins (10.2%). Turboprop operations were also up by 7.5%.
“June activity remained on positive footing,” said Travis Kuhn, senior v-p of software for Argus. “There continues to be some erosion of demand in the large-cabin market, and it doesn’t appear as though that will change anytime soon. On the positive side, fractional activity continues to remain incredibly resilient with double-digit yearly growth. Our overall forecast remains positive as we look into H2 2026.”
